Q&A With Featured Artist: Jeh

Ambient Vibes had the opportunity to ask Jeh, India’s talented producer, DJ, and songwriter, a couple of questions. Here are his responses.

What was the journey that led you into making music?

I’ve always been into music. I had Duran Duran and Coldplay on repeat since I was 4 years old (and now too!) and it’s because of them that I wanted to learn the guitar.
I also taught myself the piano and every day as soon as I came home from school, the first thing I’d do is run straight to my guitar, piano, or ukulele and jam out for hours.
And this slowly led me to music production.

What is your creative process when making a song?

It’s different for each song, but I like to start with the drum grooves first.
Anything can trigger an idea for me, whether its a cool vocal sample I find, a set of nice chords, atmospheres, or even an emotion

How do you think the music community can give back?

By making more music for people to enjoy

How do you promote your music?

I should be doing way more than I am actually. Right now I’m just sending out my music to labels, blogs and updating my social media

Is there a project in the works right now?

Yes, there are multiple actually!
I can’t say much about them but I hope to release most of them in 2021

Where do you see your music career going in the future?

I want to carve out my own path in music. I don’t want to be confined to one genre and I hope my production is good enough to help me do that!

What is one weakness you would strengthen?

I get distracted easily and move onto new ideas before finishing old ones

Do you think social media has an impact on you?

I think it has an impact on everyone, it's a really good tool to connect with musicians from around the world but it can also be very distracting/misleading

Do you have a mentor or coach? If you don't, who would you want as one?

No, I do not at the moment. I think artists like Marc Kinchen, Rufus Du Sol or Disclosure could probably teach me so many things production-wise

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music?

Yes many!
I love Football (soccer), movies, art, traveling, scuba diving
